 Amanda is dedicated to helping families move from where they are to where they want to be. She

works collaboratively with families using a realistic approach while focusing on needs and interests, clarifying issues, assessing possible solutions, and helping everyone reach common ground to help them avoid unnecessary litigation costs. She specializes in creating custom parenting plans that outline rights and responsibilities, communication, shared child-rearing guidelines, and decision-making rules on upbringing. In addition, Amanda is also a conflict coach and helps individuals navigate this complicated life.

Amanda Slyter understands the litigation process, legal expenses, and the work involved with taking a case through trial. She has seen how litigation, including trials, destroys relationships and causes devastating financial and emotional burdens. That's why Slyter Mediation, LLC is passionate about using the mediation process, her creative problem-solving skills, and conflict coaching to guide families through various conflicts outside the court setting. Amanda earned her certificate in Basic Mediation Training and Family & Divorce Training. She is also a member of the State Bar of Texas (and multiple sections), the American Bar Association (and multiple sections), and local county associations. She uses the ethical guidelines outlined for mediators by the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association.


Additionally, she is a mother of three and has lived through her own high-conflict divorce involving severe parental alienation. She is a parental alienation awareness advocate and uses her personal experience and that of others to raise awareness about the effects of parental alienation.


Amanda Slyter is a respected Trial Consultant & Paralegal, and Legal Strategist with over a decade of litigation and courtroom experience. She has worked on numerous complex cases and jury trials in state and federal jurisdictions. In addition to her legal background, Amanda is a Notray Public, an entrepreneur and business consultant, a prior restaurateur, a prior owner of several small businesses, a Professional Organizer, and a Life Coach over the past two decades. She has worked with various clientele, including parents with small children divorcing couples, college students, young professionals, elders, and small business owners. She holds a BA in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology, an AA in Paralegal Studies with minors in Criminal Justice and Business, an aviation license, and dozens of certificates in legal, psychology, education, medical, and business.

 Slam the Gavel welcomes Amanda Slyter to the podcast. She is an Entrepreneur for over two decades and a Mother of three. Amanda is also an Alienated parent from a high-conflict divorce and post-divorce events. Becoming very passionate about what she believes in, she became the Founder, Mediator, and Coach at Slyter Mediation, LLC – The Remote Mediator. The primary focus is on family mediation and co-parenting working with parents to prevent FUTURE high-conflict and parental alienation using her very unique background and experience to help parents understand the COSTS and risks and find alternative resolutions created by them AND NOT A JUDGE. 

Amanda is raising awareness about the effects of Parental Alienation not only from clients she has worked with over the last two decades but also as an alienated parent from first-hand experience. She is also experienced in complex civil litigation, white-collar criminal defense jury trials, preparation, and paralegal support for law firms.
